Restoration and Reconstruction of the Palm House at the University of Latvia Botanical Garden
SIA “TERMOLAT,” executing a “Design&Build” contract, has completed the full reconstruction of the Palm House at the University of Latvia Botanical Garden. The building reaches a height of 24 m, with a total floor area of 550 m². The following solutions were implemented as part of the project:
- Building Envelope: Complete replacement of wall and roofing panels, alongside the remediation of structural defects and renovation of load-bearing structures.
- Utility Modernization: Installation of energy-efficient heating, misting, and air exchange systems, complemented by multifunctional LED lighting.
- Smart Management: An automated Building Management System (BMS) was integrated to optimize operational processes.
- Sustainability: Heated gutters were installed for rainwater harvesting and subsequent reuse in irrigation.
These technological advancements ensure an optimal microclimate for plant vegetation, enhance workplace ergonomics, and significantly reduce the facility’s CO₂ emission intensity.
The project was commissioned in December 2025.
